Drone Operator and CEO
I am excited about beginning this business! It has been a long road but we are finally moving forward with the dream.
I started my private pilot’s license when I was 17 in 1987. In 2001, I joined the Navy and was part of an F-18 squadron. They encouraged me to finish my license which I did in 2006. Flying is part of who I am.
I went back to school in 2009 and became a teacher in 2012. I went back to school again to complete a Master's degree in Science Education and while at school I became interested in drone technology and drone photography. I purchased my first drone in 2015.
I was asked by Southern Connecticut State University to produce a marketing video for one of their environmental classes. I had a lot of fun with this project and my son Tim, who's an accomplished musician with videography experience, edited the video and added his own musical accompaniment.
I was then asked to be part of a research project which required drone work. I decided at this point that I should pursue a commercial drone license. I then received my FAA commercial drone license in 2016 and after a few bumps in the road started flying commercially for real estate agents this year. Here we go, the sky is the limit!
Manager and Marketing
My dad DJ has always been interested in photography and his passion must have rubbed off on me. I enjoyed toying around with cameras from a young age. I would record videos and take pictures. I made a couple amateur movies, taught myself video editing software and Adobe Photoshop for photo editing.
In 2013 I started building websites. My first website was for a student mentorship program. I am now the webmaster for my grandparents' business "The Needleworks" as well as here at Aeolus Aerial.
Along with the website, I am also in charge of designing other promotional material like flyers and business cards. I will fly the drone occasionally and edit the pictures post-flight.
